Ghats in Varasina, India

Varanasi is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. It is the home of God Shiva and since the beginning of the time the most religious center of Hindus. The ghats refer to a series of stone steps on leading down to a body of the holy river – the Ganges, where bather people gather and leave gifts. It is believed that every drop of the river water is holy and can wash away their sins of its visitors.
